Creating something surreal
Sound on.
The focus on this project was to develop a unique way to display animations similar to that of EDM shows. This was my first attempt at creating a system of armatures that I could sync the music easily.
With the animation, I wanted to create something surreal, and I had begun my journey into creating crystal artworks, so I went with crystal octopus tentacles. Something unique and visually striking.

Rigify
The main animation
The main animation. I used my crystal material on all the objects in the scene. The glowing crystals, had the volumetrics(Clouds inside the crystals) glowing for added effects. The woman had a modified version of the Material for opacity.
Animation BTS
This is what the animation looks like without any of the crystals and materials. I animated it using rigify. The tentacles were modelled by me, and rigged by me. The female model was created using character creator 3.
Screen Material
The Stage had two separate emission controls. One for the glow or brightness of the screen. The other for the light rays coming from the the screens. The top value controlled how much the screen lit up the surrounding area, and the bottom controlled the brightness of the screen without making it too bright.
